Semaglutide, a Medication for Weight Loss
Semaglutide, more commonly known by the brand names Wegovy or Ozempic, is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. Semaglutide is FDA-approved for weight loss however it initially was used to treat type 2 diabetes by regulating blood sugar levels. If you have an initial body mass index (BMI) that is considered outside of a healthy range and/or you have type 2 diabetes, Semaglutide may be a great option to help you lose weight!

Maintaining a lower calorie diet, avoiding processed foods and refined sugars, increasing daily water intake, and incorporating exercise into your routine will only help you move closer towards being a leaner and healthier you!
B12 can help decrease the incidence of nausea associated with the Semaglutide injection. It is also known to be energy-enhancing and can provide metabolism support.
The most common side effect as your body adjusts to the semaglutide is nausea and we have found that B12 often will help this! The following side effects are ones that are more commonly reported: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach (abdomen) pain, headache, tiredness (fatigue), upset stomach, dizziness, feeling bloated, belching, gas, stomach flu, and heartburn. Your medical provider will review with you potential side effects prior to beginning medical weight loss so you can decide if Semaglutide therapy is the right medical weight loss program for you.
